Colt Rod Company delivers yet another industry first with its implementation of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chip technology into each of its rods.
The RFID chip allows the rod owner undisputable electronic verification of ownership, which correlates back to warranty protection.
In some instances and subject to availability, the chip technology will give electronic ownership identification in the event of theft.*
The RFID chip also allows for ease of electronic warranty transfer should you decide to sell your Colt Rod to a third party.**
*The Colt RFID chip technology is not an anti-theft or tracking device. Neither Colt Rod Company nor its affiliates warrants that a stolen or lost Colt rod can be recovered as a result of the RFID technology. In no way shall any language contained within this document be construed as a guarantee, warranty or otherwise, nor shall any language contained herein impose any liability whatsoever upon Colt Rod Company or its affiliates.
**Electronic transfer of warranty from owner to owner is only available through www.coltrod.com/warrantytransfer (“Website”) or by contacting a Colt Warranty Service Specialist (“Specialist”) at 702-240-2658. Neither Colt Rod Company nor its affiliates has a duty to ensure any warranty protection on products which are not transferred and recorded through the foregoing means. Neither Colt Rod Company nor its affiliates will assume any responsibility for any loss or damage that results from the use of the Website or through contacting a Specialist, unless such loss or damage is a direct result of negligence on behalf of Colt Rod Company or its affiliates.

To have a product serviced:
If you choose to send the Colt Product directly to us, please send the entire Product, freight pre-paid, and insured for its full value. Be sure to include all broken parts or pieces of the rod. Package the Product either in its original packaging, or in packaging(preferably disposable) offering an equal degree of protection as the original packaging.
Include a note with your name, shipping address, phone # and e-mail address (if available), as well as a brief explanation of the nature of the problem.
For return shipments within the U.S., also include a check for $75, or a Visa, Master Card or American Express credit card # with the name that appears on the card, and the expiration date.

GENERAL TERMS
While we are confident about the durability of our rods, nothing is ever perfect.
Every new Colt rod, blank, Bass, Freshwater, Inshore Saltwater, Offshore Saltwater, Reel McCoy, Fly & all other models are covered by our lifetime, original owner warranty.
This warranty is limited to repair and replacement of the rod, blank and does not cover direct, indirect, consequential, incidental or any other type of damage resulting from the use of the product. This warranty does not cover intentional breakage, fire, theft, loss, modification or customization of the finished rod, or damage during the assembly of a blank into a finished rod. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
If the problem is due to an unfortunate accident, misuse, alteration or normal wear and tear, we will advise you of the cost of the repair or replacement and await your approval prior to proceeding.
Colt reserves the right to determine whether to repair or replace any Colt Product covered by this warranty and the right to replace any discontinued models with comparable models when necessary. Colors and components may vary between original and replacement parts.
